   The San Ramon waterfall is located on the steep slopes of Ometepe Maderas Volcano, a slice of paradise in the thick jungle which its waters tumble down the sheer, mossy cliff face into a small pool where visitors can bath and admire the fall. And, a refreshing swim in the waterfallu2019s pool is almost obligatory after a moderate hike.

   Spend a nice day kayaking along the coast of Ometepe Island in Lake Nicaragua until you reach the mouth of the Istiu00e1n River. The river and marshlands run through the center of the isthmus almost cutting the island in two. The Istiu00e1n River area is a marshy terrain on the western side of the isthmus between Maderas and Concepciu00f3n. It is only accessible by water and is a perfect place to see all kinds of wildlife as it is a refuge for several species such as birds, turtles, alligators, butterflies and monkeys.
