   Your tour begins in the elegant Court Garden of the Wu00fcrzburg Residence, a refined green space laid out between 1613 and 1617 under Maximilian I, Elector of Bavaria. Designed in the style of an Italian Renaissance garden, it offers a harmonious introduction to Wu00fcrzburgu2019s aristocratic past. At its center stands the Diana Pavilion, completed in 1615 by Heinrich Schu00f6n the Elder, with radiating paths extending from its arches in symmetrical fashion. Crowning the pavilion is a replica of Hubert Gerhardu2019s statue of Bavaria (1623), while the original design of the garden can still be admired inside the Kaisersaal of the Residence.

Commissioned in 1720 by Prince-Bishop Johann Philipp Franz von Schu00f6nborn and his brother Friedrich Carl, the palace was designed by the brilliant court architect Balthasar Neumann and completed in 1744. Its scale and artistic ambition reflect the power and prestige of the Prince-Bishops, making it a defining symbol of Wu00fcrzburg.

Completed in 1724 and consecrated in 1736, it stands as a testament to both religious devotion and dynastic legacy.

   You will then explore the imposing Wu00fcrzburg Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Kilian. Stretching 103 meters in length, it is the fourth-largest Romanesque church in Germany and a remarkable example of architecture from the Salian period. Although heavily damaged during the bombing of March 1945, the cathedral was carefully restored after World War II, preserving its historical significance while reflecting the resilience of the city.
